Description

Part 1: Activity in the nurses' area as the women brush their teeth, wash clothes and hair. Using their steel helmets one washes her face, another shoes, while another cooks eggs. Group of women seated outside, eating. Several others inside tent write letters. Native laborers use homemade washing machine, as several others hang laundry out to dry. Part 2: Night scenes, tracer bullets, bombs exploding, and flashes from British Naval guns. Early morning landings of British troops from landing barges. Bombs bursting around the British ships; one ship is on fire. Soldiers climb down landing nets board landing craft which makes its way to the beach where the soldiers rush out and advance. Troops move off British LCl. Dukw with soldiers rides up on beach. British land supplies, tanks, and jeeps. British soldiers smiling and grouped together with Italian prisoners. General Bernard L Montgomery and staff look at map. Merchant ships moving in convoy.
