WS POV TS Police chasing car / Utah, USA A drunken motorist headed down the wrong direcfion of the Highway at a high rate of speed at 4:30 am,A drunken motorist and the Utah state trooper who tried to pull him over were involved in a crash on Interstate 15 early Sunday morning, police reported. The high-speed car chase began near Point of the Mountain after police dispatchers fielded calls at 4:30 a.m. about a motorist driving in the wrong direction toward Salt Lake City, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Doug McCleve. Troopers at various spots along the stretch attempted to stop the motorist, McCleve said, but the inebriated man kept on, approaching speeds of 100 mph and driving through a section that was closed for construction. The suspect, a 24-year-old Utah County man, eventually crashed into a wall when an officer pulled in front of him and tapped his brakes, McCleve said. The officer suffered minor injuries to his hand and the suspect was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, McCleve said. Charges are pending against the suspect.,
