Despite a Government campaign, surveys show most of us still don't even know what the Millennium Bug is or what it could mean for us. Y2K cuts through the confusion with a layman's guide to what might or might not happen in the first seconds of the Year 2000. The problem's been on the horizon for years - ever since computers were invented. Older systems don't recognise the start of a new millennium and might assume we've turned the clock back to the year 1900. No-one will know for sure until the day arrives. Meanwhile, emergency planners are on the alert - just in case.
