Richard Gere discusses his film Arbitrage 2012 about a rich and powerful man in the world finance and Hedge Funds. He compares the film to a Greek Tragedy. He really loved the script but was wary of working with a first time director on the project. The writer and director Nicholas Jarecki also discusses on camera how he managed to persuade Gere to do the film. They thankfully hit it off and got the film made. Pretty Woman 1990 clip is shown. Days of Heaven 1978 clip is shown. Officer and a Gentleman 1982 is the next film discussed which propelled Gere to Hollywood Stardom. Gere wasn't captured by the script initially, it took a lot of work and improvising to get right. Being young and intense he wanted it to be less romantic and more realistic and he hated filming the famous ending. Breathless 1983 is about an LA guy going out with a French girl. First Knight 1995 clip is shown where Gere played Lancelot. Chicago 2002 clip is shown, Gere played the character Billy Flynn in the film version of the musical. Internal Affairs 1990 was a dangerous script according to Gere, either it was going to be a piece of junk or brilliant depending on who directed it, luckily British director Mike Figgis took it on and they made it very Shakespearian, very powerful, not your typical rogue cop film. Richard Gere then discusses his political work helping to raise awareness for Tibet.
