Tape 1 Part 1 The audience in the theatre are seen listening to the orchestra play music in tribute to Bing Crosby. Queen Elizabeth II arrives outside the theatre where she is met by Bernard Delfont and Lew Grade, she also meets Louis Benjamin and Reg Swinson. Olga Grade presents the Queen with a bouquet. Also in the royal party are Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh) and Prince Charles (Prince of Wales). The royal party enter the box and the national anthem is played. Bob Hope, the show's host, performs stand up comedy including jokes about Concorde aeroplane, Prince Charles, the birth of the Queen's first grandchild (Peter Phillips), Anwar Sadat. Hope then introduces the show's next performers - Brotherhood of Man, who sing Angelo. Bob Hope returns to introduce Little and Large. Little and Large (Syd Little and Eddie Large) sing Do You Wanna Touch Me. Large does impressions of celebrity's cars then Little tries to sing a song but is interrupted by Large doing impressions. Little eventually starts singing Till There Was You - with further interruptions from Large doing impressions. Bop hope returns to introduce Paul Anka. Anka sings It Only Takes a Moment, and My Way. Part 2 Bob Hope introduces The Muppets. The Muppets perform, includes puppets Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, Scooter, and Floyd - the performance includes jokes and the song We Got Us (during which they are joined by Rowlf, Monster and Robin). Bob Hope returns to introduce Mary Stavin, winner of the 1977 Miss World Contest. Hope and Stavin perform jokes. Hope then introduces Cleo Laine. Cleo sings It Might as Well Be Spring, and Come Back to Me. She then sings He Was Beautiful, with accompaniment from classical guitarist John Williams. Cleo then sings a skatting song with accompaniment by John Dankworth on saxophone. Part 3 Tommy Cooper performs his stand up comedy magician act. Bob Hope returns to praise Tommy Cooper and introduce Shirley Maclaine. Maclaine sings If My Friends Could See Me Now, The Gypsy in My Soul (with dancers), she then dances a hustle to The Donkey Serenade before returning to sing If My Friends Could See Me Now. Tape 2 Part 4 Bob Hope introduces Pam Ayres who recites her poem After the Jubilee, she then recites a limerick by Jack Harris as she walks off the stage. Bop Hope returns to introduce Rudolf Nureyev and Yoko Morishita who dance a ballet duet - a pas de deux from Don Quixote. Nureyev and Morishita then perform solo dances. Part 5 Bob Hope introduces Alan King who performs stand up comedy while smoking a cigar; his subjects include dermatology, doctors, and illness. As King leaves the stage the audience applaud; Statler and Waldorf (The Muppets) are seen in a box where they entertain the audience with their heckling humour. Bob Hope introduces Rich Little who performs comedy impressions of John Wayne, Jimmy Carter, Engelbert Humperdinck, Anthony Newley, and Tom Jones. Bob Hope returns to pay tribute to Bing Crosby - he introduces Kathy (Kathryn) and Harry Crosby (members of Bing's family in the audience). Hope then introduces the Muppets who perform their version of music by Offenbach. Part 6 Bob Hope introduces Harry Belafonte who sings Turn the World Around, and Streets of London. Hope returns to shake hands with Belafonte, he then sings I've Got an Invitation to a Dance followed by a comedic monologue (including an appearance from Peter Ustinov) on the theme of attending a dance; the song ends with Hope dancing with Rudolf Nureyev. Hope then introduces Julie Andrews who sings I'll Play for You, My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, Camelot, Show Me, I Could Have Danced All Night, and The Hills Are Alive. Bob Hope returns to sings Thanks for the Memory, and speaks on the relationship between Britain and America. He then introduces all the show's performers to take a final bow, the national anthem is then played. The performers are then seen meeting the Queen backstage - includes Jim Henson and Frank Oz, Pam Ayres, Alan King, Bob Hope and Julie Andrews. Prince Charles is seen meeting Rudolf Nureyev and Shirley Maclaine, John Dankworth, Cleon Laine and John Williams.
