A former teacher at Manchester's famous Cheetham's school of music who was accused of historical sexual abuse has apparently shot himself in Los Angeles as police went to arrest him.

Chris Ling who was 58 is one of a number of suspects into allegations of sex assaults at Cheethams. He had moved to California and ran a talent agency. Our correspondent Rob Smith reports
