Actor Armie Hammer discusses working with two great and very contrasting directors Clint Eastwood and David Fincher. Fincher he describes as being very focused and precise, with a lot of endurance, who shoots a lot of takes. Eastwood being the polar opposite, years of experience, effortless craft and directs with total ease. J. Edgar 2011 directed by Eastwood and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Hammer plays Clyde Tolson. He talks about landing the role and his admiration for Eastwood, Dicaprio and Judi Dench. Hammer then discusses his childhood growing up in the Cayman Islands and the family oil business. His family were very reluctant towards him pursuing a career in acting, but with an enormous passion for movies Hammer decided to turn his back on the family business, take acting classes and start auditioning. His family have since come around to the idea. The Social Network 2010 being his break out movie, he plays twins, two characters. Hammers says it was fantastic getting to play the brothers and being directed by Fincher. He goes on to talk about the wonderful script, dialogue heavy and being so tight 'it does all the work for you'. Mirror Mirror 2012 Hammer talks about playing a more eccentric Prince Charming in this new take on Snow White. He desperately wanted to work with the director Tarsem Singh and of course Julia Roberts. Hammer talks about his up coming project The Lone Ranger to be directed by Gore Verbinski, and starring Johnny Depp as Tonto. Hammer speaks of having had to fight for the role, he expresses his delight at the prospect of riding horses and shooting guns across the desert, a childhood dream come true. Hammer closes by saying how much he is looking forward to working with Depp and knows from the tight script that Depp will do an amazing job.
