French movie actress Ludivine Sagnier discusses her film Love Is In The Air 2013 a classic French rom-com filmed throughout Paris. Sagnier says she loves rom-coms especially American ones like Pretty Woman and When Harry Met Sally. She then talks about how she initially got into acting as a child aged 8. She was noticed hanging around in a corridor outside a room where casting directors were auditioning and was randomly asked to audition - she won the role and everything progressed from there. Sagnier goes on to discuss working with French director Francois Ozon, with whom she has made several films, the first being Water Drops on Burning Rocks 2000, followed by 8 Women 2002 and Swimming Pool 2003. She details her experience working on the films, in particular working with a group of very famous actresses in 8 Women including Catherine Deneuve and then Charlotte Rampling in Swimming Pool. Sagnier's career took off after the success of these films, she recalls her move to Hollywood which was stressful, saying it was never her dream and that she prefers working in French cinema, which affords a more balanced life. Peter Pan 2003 follows next where she played the role of Tinkerbell, it was always her dream to play a fairy much to the delight of her two daughters. The Devils Double 2011 in which she starred alongside Dominic Cooper playing a Lebanese prostitute. Sagnier describes the film as 'Scar Face in the Middle East' - she had a lot of fun playing the character. Sagnier then decided to take a new direction in her career, looking for more serious roles. Mesrine 2008 starring Vincent Cassel as a notorious gangster and directed by Jean-Francois Richet a 70's set, big money, big hair classic. The next film discussed is A Girl Cut In Two, a black comedy centred around her character - a TV weather girl. Directed by the legendary Claude Chabrol, who she describes as high energy except after 'lunch and wine'. Sagnier then discusses her love of working alongside actresses and often chooses projects that focus on female relationships. The last film discussed is Love Crime 2010 a corporate thriller starring Kristin Scott Thomas. Sagnier then talks about her three up and coming films - a small indie road movie, an adaptation of a comic book and an action movie.
