Phillips on producing Elvis and nurturing him, putting his band together, encouraging Elvis's input on "That's All Right" (first single). Their was a desire to find a UK answer to Elvis (31:50) Interview with Cliff Richard- Elvis changed his world. Jack Good on Cliff Richard. (c) Bill Haley arriving in the UK. Jack Good on Gene Vincent- expectations of trouble when he performed but he was actually quite shy and polite. Good shaped his image to make him look tougher. (c) of Vincent performing "Be Bop A Lu-la". Jack Good on American music shows- very tame, safe, not rock and roll. (39:38) Jerry Lee Lewis performing. (c) Elvis in military uniform giving press conference in Europe. Jack Good claims military service tamed Elvis. But Jerry Lee Lewis could not be tamed- a force of nature. The press thought he was dangerous. Jerry Lee Lewis interview (44:30) . Jack Good on Elvis losing the battle with the establishment. Jerry Lee Lewis on earning $10K a night to just $250 - took him 12 years to get his career back. He regrets not living a Christian life but professes to be the " greatest rock and roll and country and western singer in the world".
