60-minute full length documentary in two parts about the famed fashion photographer David Bailey. For someone who's spent most of his life behind the camera, David Bailey's kept up a remarkably high profile himself. He made his name as a fashion photographer in the early sixties when the freshness of his photographs and the pace of his lifestyle made him as famous as the people he photographed. But his work has never been confined to fashion. Alongside the fashion plates stand his portraits, ranging from the Kray Twins to Mick Jagger, from Andy Warhol to Terence Stamp. And his personal work has always had a serious and even a campaigning side. From his Salvation Army posters of the sixties to his his recent work for Band Aid in Ethiopia. Now at fifty, he's working with moving images, directing commercials and planning a feature film. This film looks at the full range of the work of David Bailey, talking with him at home, watching him behind the camera, and interviewing some of the people he's put in front of it.
