Description

The Lake Jkulsrln ("Glacier River Lagoon") is the best known and largest of a series of glacial lakes in Iceland. With 248 meters, it is the deepest lake in Iceland and it covers about 18 km. The lake is characterized by the icebergs floating on it, which reach a height of up to 15 meters. Most icebergs rotate several times in the course of their existence and the water then forms deep cuts and trenches in the ice. This video captures the capsizing of such an iceberg.
